Meet Julia Cole, Occupational Therapist

Julia joined Waypoint because she values meeting students with compassion to support regulation and learning.

With a mother who was a dedicated teacher, Julia grew up in a home that deeply valued education and lifelong learning. Her earliest models of joy, compassion, and curiosity for children inspired her passion for supporting growth and development. She continues to carry that same sense of awe for the beauty and science of child development into her work today.

Julia earned her Master of Science in Occupational Therapy from Spalding University in Louisville. She has years of experience serving children in outpatient clinics, schools, and early intervention, helping them achieve milestones and thrive through individualized support. Her background in ballet training and teaching enriches her work with an intuitive sense of movement and body awareness.

Julia’s passion is supporting self-regulation through a child-led and responsive approach. Her expertise includes sensory processing and integration, gross and fine motor development, visual–motor integration, executive functioning, and praxis skills. She uses an evidence-based, play-driven approach, always guided by a strengths-based perspective. Julia strives to meet each child with compassion and curiosity, building on their interests to spark intrinsic motivation and support regulation, confidence, and learning.

Julia lives in Louisville with her husband and daughter. She finds joy and renewal in family time, reading, gardening, and enjoying warm beverages.
