Meet Kathryn “Katie” Marks MS. CCC/SLP
Katie became a member of Waypoint because she believes student success in therapy and intervention is fundamentally rooted in student engagement, personalized instruction, and effective team collaboration.
She is a pediatric speech-language pathologist with over fifteen years of experience spanning early intervention, outpatient clinics, and both public and private educational settings. She is dedicated to serving as a supportive and positive influence in the lives of her students. She advocates for tailored instruction that leverages each student's strengths while addressing their individual needs.
In addition, Katie has expanded her expertise as a reading interventionist. She is trained in various reading programs that incorporate Lindamood-Bell and Orton-Gillingham principles. Committed to continuous professional development, she actively seeks to deepen her understanding of reading instruction, speech, and language disorders through evidence-based practices.
She was born and raised in Louisville, started her career in Northern Virginia and Washington, D.C., and moved back to Louisville with her family in 2024. In her free time, she enjoys going for hikes/walks, bike rides with her family, reading, and trying out new recipes.
